Purchase Lincoln Longwool Fleece
We shear twice a year and offer some very nice fleeces for sale.
All fleeces are professionally sheared and are MODERATELY skirted. face, belly
leg and breech wool have been discarded along with any "poo",
second cuts or obvious burrs. This makes these fleeces an even
better value! They are all sold in
the grease (raw, unwashed). All fleeces sell by the pound as a
whole fleece.

The Lincoln is one of the four English longwool breeds:
Cotswold, Leicester Longwool, Lincoln, and Wensleydale. The
Lincoln has had a globally significant genetic impact on sheep
breeding, but today, like most other longwool breeds, the Lincoln
is globally rare and facing an uncertain future.
Lincoln sheep are large, deep bodied, and sturdy. Rams weigh
225-300 pounds, and ewes average 210 pounds. Lincoln wool is
long and lustrous. The fleece grows about twelve inches per
year, and each sheep produces twelve to sixteen pounds of wool.
Lincolns may be white or colored, including shades of gray,
silver, charcoal, and black. Here we are breeding for rare
shades of brown and our own unique "Silver Moorit"--ecru
overlaid with pale silver.
Our Lincolns have wonderful dispositions, are very hardy and on
pasture year round, give birth outdoors, and do not get grain.
