Peaceful Pastures Pastured Poultry
"Free Range" only indicates animals have access to the outdoors--it does not mean they are on pasture! We proudly produce PASTURED poultry!!
These birds graze our pesticide free pastures in the fresh air and sunshine. These are humanely raised animals. They are never confined or force fed. USDA inspected.
The chickens receive a blend of feed that is free from soy, bone meal, and blood meal that is a custom mix for our birds; it is not a commercial feed (contains no hormones, no antibiotics, no animal by-products) and is compiled from locally grown grains. The dressed weight of these birds is 4-6 pounds.
Ducks consume only pasture and insects and have a dressed weight of 7-9 pounds.
Geese are vegetarians that enjoy grasses and clover. They are harvested for a dressed weight of 10-13 pounds.
Eggs are from our PASTURED hens. Our hens lay white, brown and even green eggs!
Due to the distance (500 miles!) to the USDA waterfowl processor, ducks and geese are harvested once a year in late fall, just in time for the holidays!
